Celebrating Todd's experimental, collaborative and fearless approach to art and life.
We’re revisiting multiples Todd created in 2009, selecting from the archives two of four files from the RHW collaboration and two files that inspired the venture. The RHW reproductions were shadow boxed with straw to achieve a 3D effect. In contrast, the print works' dimensionality is achieved through Todd's unique reverse print to plexiglass technique. This approach, which Todd began exploring in 1990, involves layering transparencies to create depth and dimension, this layering technique is embedded in the files he created for the RHW works.
Fifteen years ago, Todd ventured into territory that is unconventional by the standards of the art world and typically avoided by artist - art and business. His experimental nature led him to enter a collaborative venture with BOBO Intriguing Objects and RHW. It's a chapter of his career that's misunderstood and frequently criticized. We view these collaborations not as deviations from his art but as extensions of it.
For those interested in the journey, its challenges, and the ongoing issues (misrepresentation of provenance + inflation of value) related to these works, we're sharing the storyHERE, RHW revisited FAQ page.
To learn more about how this collaborative venture contributed to Todd's legacy as a brilliant experimental artist and its real-time impact compared to other successful and unsuccessful collaborations, further information is available HERE.
